Mary Joye Kilroy, a Florida native, grew up on the beach and literally spent her entire childhood in bathing suits or cowboy boots. She crossed one bridge and was in cow and horse country. A lot of people don't realize that Florida has cattle and rodeos. She is married to a fifth generation rancher. Most folks just think about the beaches.

Mary had an interesting career in show business before becoming a Christian Country singer. After graduating from the University Of Florida in 1979 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater, she was asked to tour with the rock group KISS as a makeup and wardrobe artist for three years. She often played and sang country songs in the dressing rooms and decided to cut a demo of songs she had written. This demo started her musical career. Mary has performed in many venues and as an opening act. She also sang demos. She wrote and performed voice-overs for XM Satellite Radio on the former Hank's Place and had her own show as THE TENDER TIGER (otherwise known as The Double T. Mary acted in over 50 commercials, industrial films, music videos, and stage productions. She wrote and sang a jingle for Texaco.

After moving to Nashville, Mary sang with Christ Church choir for five years and was a soloist. Through her involvement in rodeo, she performed at many of the Fellowship of Christian Cowboys church services. "I've sung the National Anthem all over the country on horseback for hundreds of rodeos in the past 15 years and have ministered a lot with Christian Cowboy functions," says Mary. She has recorded two Christian Country albums and wrote secular music at Warner Brothers in Nashville. She had two top-twenty gospel chart releases, "Bit and Bridle," and "We Will Ride."

Just look at Mary's most interesting career, so far. She presently writes about the arts for Today and Tonight Magazine and has a Master's degree in Behavioral Science. Mary says, "I've used different talents at different times." But she has been very consistent about her music. You will witness with her latest Christian Country album and her live performances across the country that Mary has interwoven a fabulous talent and several careers with convictions to promote the Gospel.
